An award winning songwriter, John has been involved in music all his life both as a solo singer and songwriter and in acoustic bands. An accomplished guitarist, he also finds his way around most of the other instruments found in the studios as well as providing voiceovers for adverts, jingles and film narrative. John has performed throughout the UK and abroad from the smallest of venues to football stadia. His credits as a producer even include the legendary songwriter and singer Jackie Trent.
As a former Radio presenter John also produces radio adverts and other commercial production as well as leading the Commercial Team Building work at the studios.

As co-owner Alma has been a director and studio manager since opening. Like John, she has an extensive background at senior level in a number of blue chip companies and her successful corporate background and experiences are invaluable on our team building events. Having participated in many over the years both her and John know what works, and equally importantly, what doesn’t.
With an uncanny ability to get things done whilst the rest of us are thinking about starting, her range and capacity for work is almost boundless.
Within the many ‘hats’ she wears here at Orchard, she it responsible for the IT infrastructure and for production of the CD covers and cases for all our clients.
Alma, as the font of most knowledge, is able to help with all non-musical issues within the studios. Please though, for all of us, never ever ask her to sing!

Greg Holsgrove

Dayve is a singer, songwriter and sound engineer. Having worked with us for around 6 years and regularly presenting on a local radio station, he still finds time to read the studios software manuals cover to cover (No.. really! …he should get out more!).

Dayve Dean
Assistant Engineer

A natural behind the microphone with both the BBC and commercial radio stations Verity’s career spans more years that she cares to remember. As a producer, presenter,  station manager and lecturer she has a wealth and breadth of experience which is invaluable. This is particularly true for our corporate team building and commercial radio clients. Naturally she is one of our in house voice over artists having a range of delivery styles from “Punchy News” to “Soft and Sultry”.

Verity Hilton
Pilot of the Airwaves

We are envious of Jo. She is one of those lucky few people who have a naturally beautiful voice. Add to that formal training from Stoke College, North Cheshire Theatre School and Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and it’s a recipe for success.

Jo was the first person ever to sing at the opening night of Manchesters Bridgewater Hall.

As our main vocal coach Jo can turn nerves into enthusiasm and bring out the very best from individuals and teams in an incredibly short time. We’re still not quite sure how she manages this but we think it’s something to do with the fact that she is absolutely and utterly barking mad!
